The Hamlan Story
Hamlan Homes commenced trading in early 1983.
One of Hamlan’s first projects was the re-building of a Real Estate office at Aireys Inlet, which was destroyed in the ‘Ash Wednesday’ bushfires. It wasn’t long before Hamlan was asked to re-build other homes in the area, from Torquay to Apollo Bay.
Hamlan offered a range of affordable yet attractive ‘Holiday Homes’ (mostly cedar clad) which were very popular as replacement for homes destroyed, not to mention as home for holiday-makers and permanent residents alike.
Hamlan soon carved a niche along the Surf Coast and business grew strongly throughout the 1980s.
In 1989, Hamlan Homes began branching into other markets. This included suburban, brick veneer homes and various Government projects. Since then, the company has continued to grow, building Child Care Centres, Offices, Restaurants, Shopping Centres and Aged-Care Facilities.
A loyal, well-trained workforce combined with the enthusiasm to succeed allowed Hamlan Homes to flourish in tough economic times.
Hamlan Homes now constructs upwards of 300 homes annually plus various medium-density and commercial projects, making it one of the top builders of choice in Victoria.
Building from Craigieburn in Melbourne’s north through to Caroline Springs in the west, as well as Werribee, Point Cook, Greater Geelong including the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast, Apollo Bay, Ballarat and Colac, the diversity in market penetration ensures a long-term future in the industry.
