Country Design

The guiding principle of country home design is simplicity- you want to create an environment that is relaxing and comfortable to best allow you to unwind in peace. Choose colours, shapes and lines that are simple and folksy. Usually warm, natural tones create a calming energy, and variations on the same shade will be peaceful on the eye. Often a good tip is to base paint selections on colors or tones found in or that harmonize with the furniture pieces.

Combine antiques with barn board accessories or weathered signs, and allow garden statues to decorate the inside of the house. Hardwood floors are typical of country design, and can be complemented by braided or themed accent rugs.
