Like most people, I am not backward in complaining when something is not up to scratch. But in my life I have also tried to acknowledge and compliment excellent work/performance. And from my experience Hamlan does excellent work, on many levels. You should be proud of what you do.

My experience (with TWO houses over the past 12 months - one for my mum and one for my wife and I) has been excellent. Hamlans have a professional approach to customer service, competent (and strict) building supervisors and a flexible attitude to alterations. I spoke with a building inspector on site the other day and he advised me that they are by far the best of the major builders working on the Surf Coast in Victoria.

We are at lock-up stage with the second house now, and we are very happy with the quality of workmanship throughout. And I do have some experience with house-building, having constructed a number of houses over the past 30 years. (And several family members were builders themselves until they retired.)

The sales consultant (Peter) was very knowlegeable and extremely helpful with the design development and materials selection. The building supervisor (Andrew, who we had on the first house and specifically requested for the second) was/is fabulous - meticulous, competent and a pleasure to deal with. The building manager (Bernie) is also a credit to the firm - straight-shooting, very knowledgeable and extremely efficient. Any minor problems are dealt with expeditiously and effectively.

I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Hamlans to anybody contemplating building a house. (And no, I have affiliation with Hamlans at all!)
