If there’s one room in your home that’s getting a pretty decent workout during this time of social isolation — we bet it’s the kitchen!

Smeg appliances

ISO life has given us the opportunity to cook and bake more — whether it’s testing new recipes or purely enjoying a fellow household member’s delicious dishes!

A new kitchen makes this experience even more enjoyable, because, let’s be honest, there’s nothing more frustrating than cooking in a kitchen that lacks cupboard or bench space, or baking with an old inefficient oven.

At Hamlan, we have selected suppliers that we trust can deliver the right quality product to create your dream home and ultimately your dream kitchen.

Hamlan’s supplier of choice for all our kitchen appliances is Smeg. Italian manufacturer Smeg has been operating for over 70 years and has been supplying products to Australia since 1986. In that time it has built itself a name in Australia as a premium cooking and kitchen appliance supplier.

In addition to being a premium supplier, Smeg is also Hamlan’s brand of choice because of its “Made in Italy” style. Inspired by the local food culture and traditions, Smeg appliances celebrate the Italian way of life, with food, wine, family; all experiences best shared. A great sentiment when you’re spending so much time at home with your household!

Smeg delivers world-leading technology with architectural design

If you have been in the kitchen a lot during the past few weeks, there’s a good chance you’ve been thinking of what your dream kitchen would look like! And a Smeg oven and cooktop is a must.

Smeg appliances

According to Smeg, since its beginnings in northern Italy more than 70 years ago it has been committed to creating beautiful appliances that combine world-leading technology and architectural design.

“Developed for consumers who value eternal style and quality, Smeg’s formula has created major and small appliances with undeniable personality designed to bring a signature Italian flair to the heart of the home,” Paul Enright, Smeg’s national commercial manager.

“This industrious, entrepreneurial spirit was born of the Emilia Romagna region where Smeg was founded by the Bertazzoni family. Inspired by the nearby ‘technology valley’ the region is home to iconic Italian manufacturers including Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Ducati, where an obsessive attention to detail results in premium performance, power and precision, all achieved with inimitable style.

“This innate sense of artistry and craftsmanship has created unmissable modern-day innovations, such as the patented blade flame to reimagining what’s possible with the first-ever domestic blast chiller, Smeg continues to push the boundaries and creativity of the kitchen.”

Mmm, we can smell the baking biscotti already!

Smeg brings food, family and friends together in the heart of the home

The kitchen is often considered the heart of a home. And the wafting smells of all your cooking and baking from your kitchen can definitely bring a household together.

“It’s no coincidence that Smeg’s birthplace in northern Italy holds entertaining family and friends at its heart,” Paul says.

“They call it ‘conviviality’, where eating and drinking brings people together around a large family table.

“The Bertazzonis are no exception to this shared passion of family and friends through the enjoyment of food. In creating Smeg, they are able to perpetuate this love of food, family and friends for generations to come through a brand that lives and breathes these ideals.

“The craftsmanship behind Smeg’s iconic appliances allow individuality and self-expression through food, whether that’s through enabling the creation of a new family favourite or perfecting a generations old recipe.”

Let’s get cooking!

If Smeg’s passion for food and cooking has given you further inspiration, why not try one of their signature recipes? Smeg’s Limoncello biscuits are sweet Italian biscuits that are best served with coffee, tea or a glass of Limoncello. Bliss!
