Double glazed windows and doors
When you live in Victoria — double glazing is an absolute must. All Hamlan homes come with double glazed windows and doors from our local supplier Southern Star Group.
Double-glazed windows and doors can improve the thermal performance of your home, which reduces energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
This means that in winter, double-glazing reduces the loss of heat from the home with the innermost panel of the glass holding room temperature and the outer panel absorbing the cold. In summer, double glazing helps to reduce the amount of radiated heat gain, therefore decreasing the amount of heat entering the home. Generally, the insulation properties of double glazing are so great that you may save significant amounts of money on your heating or cooling bills while also significantly reducing the carbon footprint of your home.
Double-glazed windows are also great for reducing the amount of ambient noise that enters your home. This is really beneficial if you live on a busy street or generally just want more peace and quiet in your home. But the best thing is, unlike these home design shows this isn’t an upgrade — this amazing feature comes standard with your Hamlan home!
Bradford Solar ChargePark including Tesla Powerwall
Your dream home should be fitted with state-of-the-art solar power! Hamlan was the first builder in Geelong to offer the Tesla Powerwall with backup as part of our standard inclusions. Every Hamlan home is fitted with the Bradford Solar ChargePark including Tesla Powerwall, a customised solar-plus-battery solution.
The Powerwall is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that stores solar energy that’s generated from the Bradford solar panels during the day to be used at any time. For example, the Powerwall can protect your home in a power outage keeping your lights, WI-FI, air conditioning, heating and refrigerator running.
You can also use cloud-based monitoring from any smart device to monitor and manage your energy, including charging from the grid during off-peak. So if you are environmentally conscious and want to build a home that reflects your values, you’ll be relieved to know this comes standard with a Hamlan home!
Downlights
One important element of your dream home that you must get right is your lighting. Every Hamlan home comes with downlights — lighting that creates a clean, sophisticated look to your home while also providing excellent light. If you’re planning to fill your home with stylised focal points, downlights are great at highlighting areas, objects and artwork.
Downlights come in a range of finishes — from white to matte black to chrome to gold.
And by using LED downlights opposed to halogen globes you can improve the energy efficiency of your home.

Quality flooring
Your dream home should have flooring that looks and feels great underfoot. All Hamlan homes come with quality flooring — either carpet and/or vinyl plank flooring.
Vinyl plank flooring is a great option for those who want a beautiful timber look for their home. What makes vinyl plank an excellent choice is it’s easy maintenance, water resistant and hardy — making it perfect for those high traffic areas of the home. It’s also quiet underfoot — keeping the noise low in your home, no matter how many people are inside.

- Higher ceilings and wider doors
Ceiling height is something that everyone notices when they walk into a home! High ceilings instantly makes a home feel big, open and spacious. Our homes already come with 2550mm ceilings but you can increase that to 2700 to add more wow factor.
A more subtle upgrade that adds maximum impact is wider doors. Narrow doors can make a space seem small and confined. But by widening doors you can make a home feel grand and much more spacious. At Hamlan, you can upgrade your doors to 2340mm. - Square-set plaster
Another subtle upgrade that also makes maximum impact is square-set plaster. What is square-set plaster? Many homes come with a decorative cornice where the wall meets the ceiling however if you want your home to have an ultra-modern look and feel, square-set plaster is the ideal finish. This offers a clean, square finish where a traditional cornice would sit between the wall and ceiling. It’s all the small design details that make all the difference in the aesthetics of your home! - Feature tiled splashbacks
If you have a distinct style or want to incorporate a bit more of “you” into your dream home, adding a feature tiled splashback is a simple way to achieve that. There’s so much fun to be had with tile selection and it’s a great way to set the tone of your entire home. Want an industrial look? Go for a simple subway tile. Are you more refined and sophisticated? Choose a Carrara-look tile. Or if you want a mid-century look? Choose a tile with a striking, graphic shape or pattern. - Electrical fittings with home automation
You’ll want to keep the look and feel of your home consistent and one thing that is often overlooked is electrical fittings — your light switches and power sockets. At Hamlan the Clipsal Iconic range is part of our standard inclusion, however you can upgrade these interchangeable fittings to match the colour selection of your home and create an overall polished look.
