We support local businesses and help provide opportunities for members of our community who have special needs or are from disadvantaged backgrounds.
We are proud to be involved in corporate volunteering with local charity Geelong Mums. Each month Hamlan staff members spend a couple of hours helping at the Geelong Mums warehouse with any given tasks including sorting donations, packing bags of clothing and cleaning prams.
Geelong Mums is a volunteer-powered organisation based in South Geelong who rehomes new and pre-loved baby goods and nursery equipment to families in need. Their philosophy is that by reusing and recycling much-loved babies’ and children’s gear, they not only share the joy of motherhood with each other, but save the earth’s precious resources too.
Hamlan is proud to be member of the steering committee for Northern Futures. We are committed to supporting people from disadvantaged backgrounds break the cycle of unemployment by providing pre-apprenticeships for local youth in the construction industry.
Northern Futures works to address the critical social and economic challenges faced by many people living in Geelong’s northern suburbs. These challenges include high unemployment, poor education outcomes, low household incomes and an increased likelihood of living in public and rental housing.
Northern Futures work closely with job service providers, local industry, government, schools and the community to connect and include people, enhance their opportunities for personal growth and, ultimately, change lives.
