Hamlan’s commitment to supporting disadvantagePublished on September 16, 2016
In continuing our ongoing commitment to support Geelong’s disadvantaged communities, we have signed the GROW compact.
GROW is a joint initiative between Give Where You Live and G21 that addresses disadvantage in areas of high unemployment (Colac, Norlane/Corio and Whittington).
GROW is about creating new jobs, by asking organisations to choose to buy goods and services that contribute economically and socially to our local community (social procurement) and by injecting capital into businesses and not-for-profit enterprises in target communities (impact investment).
By signing the GROW compact we pledge to:
- Support local businesses and organisations to improve economic and social outcomes
- Support social enterprises and not-for-profit businesses which deliver social outcomes
- Strengthen employment and training opportunities for targeted job seekers
- Collaborate with other GROW members to address disadvantage and support economic participation in our region.
