Hamlan claims HIA award success

Custom-built home by Hamlan in Torquay, Victoria.

Hamlan Group took home two awards at the recent 2022 HIA Western Victoria Regional Housing Awards.

Hamlan won the award for Custom Built Home $750,001-$1 million for its stunning custom build in Torquay. Geelong Homes, which is also part of Hamlan group, won the award for Display Home $300,001 – $400,000 for its Flinders 235 display home in Armstrong, Mt Duneed.

“The HIA Awards are a showcase of the best of the best in the residential building industry, and of the absolutely outstanding quality of work done by HIA members,” HIA Regional Executive Director Fiona Nield said.

“The homes recognised in the 2022 HIA Western Victoria Regional Housing Awards are exceptional, and HIA congratulates all of the winners and finalists.”

This is the third big award for our Torquay custom build this year. Earlier this year it won two awards at the 2022 South West Master Builders Victoria Regional Building Awards — including the top award as South West Residential Regional Builder of the Year and Best Custom Home $800,000-$1 million.

This custom home was a build of grand proportions – the clients came to Hamlan with a set of architectural plans for the modern home that was designed to suit their lifestyle right down to the finest of details. Built during lockdowns, it was a true reflection of Hamlan’s resilience and commitment to clients and their builds.

The Geelong Homes’ win was the second award for the Flinders 235 display in 2022. It also won the award for Best Display Home $250,000-$350,000 at the South West Master Builders Victoria Regional Building Awards.

This display which features the popular Bungalow facade, is a modern coastal home that features natural tones and textures.

The display home is flooded with plenty of natural light – which creates a beautiful sense of calm and comfort. It has three distinct zones, at the front of the home is the parents’ retreat, to the back is the kids’ wing and at the heart of the home is the open plan kitchen/living area.

Hamlan Group General Manager Jason Draper said the wins reinforced Hamlan Group’s place as Geelong premier builder.

“Award recognition from two national associations in 2022 for our builds is welcome recognition of the quality work that every single member of our team puts into each build,” Jason said.

“We build every home with the same care and consideration we would put into our own homes and these accolades demonstrates that.”
